As we embark upon this New Year, let’s do so courageously. Instead of focusing on past failures or disappointments, we should endeavor to branch out in our faith. Isaiah 43:18-19 declares, “Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it?”
Now is the time for us to rise up in faith and pursue our goals and vision relentlessly. The key to advancement is opening ourselves up to what the Lord wants to do right now! Broadening the scope of our mind enlarges our territory, as we allow Jesus to have full reign within us. Be confident as you move forward to recover all the Father has in store for you!
The first step to recovery is to recognize we are flawed. In admitting our shortcomings to God, we give Him permission to change our condition. It is up to us to respond to Jesus’ eternal question-“Do you want to be made well?” (John 5:6). Our answer is made clear through our actions.
For recovery to take place, we must believe God’s power is greater than our own ability to help ourselves. His power is available to restore us to sanity and is sufficient. “And now what the law code asked for but we couldn't deliver is accomplished as we, instead of redoubling our own efforts, simply embrace what the Spirit is doing in us,” (Rom 8:4). As we trust God’s power in us, we will recover all!
